Sussex is home to hundreds of towns and villages which might leave you wondering where to start. Seaside town, country village or maybe the cities of Chichester or Brighton and Hove? Are you looking for thatched cottages and country pubs, promenade walks and pebble beaches or South Downs hamlets with scenic trails? You’re in luck, Sussex has all of that and more.

Sussex is split into two counties, East and West Sussex stretching over 120km along the coast and between 35km and 40km wide which means we’re not short of places to visit in Sussex. While we can’t write up every town and village in the county we’ve compiled some ‘things to do guides’ for some of our favourites. And we’ll keep adding more so do check back.

With the help of our local experts you’ll find these guides packed full of local knowledge and insider tips. You’ll learn about getting there, what not to miss, historical notes and our recommendations on where to stay and eat.

Read on for guides to some of our favourites. From the big towns and cities to beautiful ancient villages, we think these are must-sees on your visit to Sussex.
